We hope you are enjoying the summer vacation and that you are excited for your first school year as a Stuyvesant student/parent! The first part of our Orientation Program for new students was held the first week of June. Part II will be held in September and will have portions for both students and parents. All incoming students are expected to attend. Please review the schedule below.
September 1, 2015 – Student Orientation (This orientation is not open to parents)
Your official class is listed on the address label affixed to this envelope. Please note the schedule below and report directly to the theater on the first floor at the designated time.
First Group: Official Classes – 1A, 1C, 1E, 1G, 1J, 1L, 1M, 1P, 1R, 1T, 1U, 1X
8:30 am - 11:45 am. All students report to the theater on the first floor. Dismissal will be at 11:45 am.
Second Group: Official Classes – 1B, 1D, 1F, 1H, 1K, 1N, 1O, 1Q, 1S, 1W, 1Y, 1Z, 3JA
12:30 am - 3:45 pm. All students report to the theater on the first floor. Dismissal will be at 3:45 pm.
Please bring a pen and paper. In addition, be prepared to purchase physical education items and a lock for your locker (shorts/shirt - $25, optional PE sweatpants - $20, physical education lock - $14, Big Sib Handbook - $2, hallway lock - $7). You should bring cash or money order.
September 2, 2015 – Parent Orientation (Open only to parents/guardians)
Due to seating capacity we are requesting that only one adult family member attend the orientation. Please make sure you know your child’s official class.
Place: Murray Kahn Theater (first floor)
Time: 8:30 am – 12:00 pm
We hope you will join us for coffee and pastries from 8:30 – 9:00a.m. The program will begin promptly at 9:00a.m.
These orientations will include greetings and announcements by school staff, Parent Association members, as well as current student leaders. You will receive information regarding transcripts, report cards and the various parent and student support resources we offer.
These sessions are very informative and will make for a smooth transition to Stuyvesant High School.

GIRLS SWIMMING AND DIVING TRYOUTS

Girls Golf Tryouts
Girls Golf Tryouts will be held August 24-28. If you intend to participate, please complete the medical and parent consent forms, which can be downloaded from the "Athletics" tab on this website. GIRLS VARSITY VOLLEYBALL 2015 TRYOUTS
August 16th, 17th and 18th (Sunday - Tuesday) @ 9:30 AM in the 3rd floor gym. (Time and gym is subject to change upon announcement. You will need a completed PSAL medical and parental form in order to tryout. If either of the forms are incomplete or incorrect, you will NOT be allowed to enter the gym. *If you already handed in new/updated forms for the No-Cut Tryouts in June then you do NOT need to hand them in again.

Stuyvesant Baseball Tryouts

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY INTEREST MEETING
The 2015 Girls Cross Country interest meeting will be September 11th after 10th period in room 505, tryouts will start on Sunday, September 13 at 9 a.m. at East River Park and second round will be on Friday September 18th after 9th and 10th period in East River Park. You need a completed PSAL parental consent and PSAL medical form in order to tryout. END OF TERM ITEMS
1. Textbook Collection will take place from Friday, June 12th to Tuesday, June 23rd and will continue on Friday, June 26th on the first floor lobby.
2. Please empty out your hallway lockers by Friday, June 26th and keep your lock..
3. Juniors, please empty and remove your lock from your Locker Room locker.
4. Sophmores who wish to have their picture retaken for their junior year, can come to the textbook collection center and retake your photo. New ID cards will be issued immediately upon return of your present ID card. There is no charge for this service.
5. There will be a 30 minute homeroom on Friday, June 26th from 9 - 9:30 am for distribution of report cards, diplomas, senior transcripts and summer school programs.
