KIDS WALK FOR KIDS WITH CANCER
There will be a 1.5 mile walk even to raise money for pediatric cancer research organized by NYC high school students. The walk event will take place in Central Park on Saturday May 2, 2015 at 11AM. We are looking for Stuyvesant students to walk and donate in order to raise money for a very worthwhile cause. ONLINE REGISTRATION FOR AP AND SPECIAL CLASSES
Online Registration for Advanced Placement Courses and Special Classes (Phase 1) has begun. It will end April 15th at 6 pm. Click here to log in to Student Tools. Click on Indicate Courses for Next Term under the School Section. All students should check that the courses listed for next term are correct. Please see your Guidance Counselor if you believe there is an error or if you have any questions. Students will be able to pick their selectives and electives during phase 2 in May.

ARISTA APPEALS PROCESS
The ARISTA Executive Council is allowing students who did not get into ARISTA for the 2015-2016 school year to go through an appeals process. Please note that this appeals process is ONLY for students who APPLIED to be in ARISTA for the following school year. See attached application for further instructions.

CSPLASH
Courant Splash is an annual lecture series taught by enthsiastic students, faculty, and others associated with the Institute. The classes cover a wide range of topics in the STEM fields, accessible to all students in grades 9 through 12. The goals of our program are: 1) To bring together students with a common interest in the mathematical sciences; 2) To expose students to the beauty, utility, and the obiquity of mathematical ideas; c) To challewnge students beyond the standard high school curriculum; and 5) To engage with instructors who are passionate about their work. The program will take place on Saturday, April 18th, 2015 at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Science of New York University at 251 Mercer Street, New York, NY 10012. GENES IN SPACE!
Be a pioneer: design a DNA analysis experiment to be performed aboard the International Space Station. Winners are invited to watch their novel experiment rocket into space. The contest launches March 17 with a submission deadline of April 30. Details can be found at www.genesinspace.org. Interested students should see Ms. Prabhu for additional guidance in Room 707.

Notice: This meeting has been postponed until further notice. Tired of the cold? Ready to start thinking of a vacation in a warm place where you can make also help to make a difference? Then maybe you should be registering for the 2015-2016 International trips to Costa Rica and India. BENT ON LEARNING
Thanks to a generous grant from the Parent’s Association, I am pleased to announce that Bent on Learning, an organization that places yoga instructors in schools, has partnered with Stuyvesant to bring a lunchtime yoga class to Stuyvesant for both students and staff every Friday during Spring Term from Friday, February 27th through Friday June 5th. The focus will be restorative in nature. No experience necessary. Mats will be provided but feel free to bring your own. Class will meet in the dance studio, room 682, during 6th period. The dance studio is adjacent to the gymnasium.

MOODY'S MEGA MATH CHALLENGE
Moody's Mega Math Challenge is a mathematical modeling contest for high school students sponsored by The Moody's Foundation and organized by SIAM. The M3 Challenge spotlights applied mathematics as a powerful problem-solving tool, as a viable and exciting profession, and as a vital contributor to advances in an increasingly technical society. The contest introduces high school students to applied mathematics by giving them an opportunity to work in teams to tackle a real-world problem under time and resource constraints akin to those faced by industrial applied mathematicians.
