Topics in Neurobiology
This course will introduce students to the structure and function of the nervous system. Topics will include cellular neurophysiology (ion channels, action potential generation, and synaptic transmission), sensory systems, learning and memory, and the neurobiology of disease.
Familiarity with introductory physics and chemistry will be helpful, but is not necessary. The course will be taught through lectures, class discussions, and labs. In addition to tests and labs, students will be assessed through class participation and two papers.
This is a one-semester course and is open to juniors and seniors.
