Regeneron Research: Biology
Regeneron Research Program for Juniors/Seniors (3 semesters): Biology
In the fall, juniors get a glimpse into the wonderful world of research! Perform cutting-edge laboratory techniques, visit real laboratories, listen to guest speakers, present articles with classmates and work side-by-side with professional researchers at nearby hospitals and universities!
In the spring and summer, students do not report to a classroom but still receive full credit as they work a few hours a week, after school, in a laboratory with their personal mentor. During this time they design and perform actual experiments, maintain a weekly journal and construct a science report. Students are expected to submit a weekly progress report to Mr. Econome throughout both semesters.
In the following fall, students return as seniors to complete their report and a poster of their research project that will be used to compete in numerous science fairs.
*Freshmen interested in performing a research project are encouraged to register for the Molecular Science/Genetics (1 year) or Biological Lab Techniques (fall semester) elective; either course is a great way to prepare for the Regeneron Research program.
See Mr. Econome in room 704 for further information.
